Winchester Model 1894 “Klondike rifle”

$1,850.00

Winchester model 1894 “Klondike rifle” in 38 - 55 caliber with 26 inch round barrel, full mag, rifle butt, serial number 76412 made about 1896-7. Winchester capitalized on the Alaskan Gold Rush and advertised their new model 1894 lever action as “the Klondike rifle”. This rifle remains an original good to very good condition with 40 - 60% motaled blue remaining on barrel and magazine tube with some spotting, minor erosion and pitting. The markings are all well defined and legible. The frame like most has drifted to gray patina with traces of blue and faint case colors on the hammer and lever. There is some light to moderate scattered pitting mostly on bottom of frame by the serial numbers which is where heaviest. The stocks are good and buttstock has been cleaned and oiled but good fit to the metal with small repair to the toe that's well done. The bore is fairly bright but rifling shallow from much use and firing. The rear sight is a later replacement in factory dovetail and is unmarked.
