Pair of Cased English Flintlock Pistols by Wheeler of London

This pair are circa about 1810 and remain in near fine original condition showing most of their brown and Damascus pattern finish on the barrels with good traces of blue turning to patina on the trigger guards. Double gold banded at the breach with gold lined touch hole and gold makers cartouche in oval at breach. All original small parts with correct bone tip ramrods about .69 caliber smooth bore with set triggers. The case have been relined in proper green baize or felt lining long ago and retains both wooden compartment door covers with compartment brass wire polls. This pair can qualify as officer’s pistols but also could have been used for dueling purposes. The exterior of the case shows brass carrying ring and brass hardware. The accessories are correct to the period. This is a very high grade set in great condition worthy of a serious English pistol collection.
