This cup hilt shows a wide blade shows a stamped name which the last letters that are not quite legible and the reverse shows a makers mark that appears to be a crown over an I or a T. The sword measures 42 ½ inches overall 36 inch blade that is 1 ½ inches thick at the hilt showing a double edge. The condition is good and uncleaned with some light to slightly heavy pitting overall. The original wood grip is good but missing its wire wrap. The tip may have been shortened slightly during period of use by one to three inches estimated from the style and form of the blade. Just the type sword the Spaniards would of carried in their colonization of southwest America and the new world.
