Full Suit of Armor with Closed Helmet Circa 1570 to 1610

A full suit of period armor with closed helmet circa 1570 to 1610. Possibly English origin. Well matched elements that are all properly hand forged. The elements are well matched and appear homogeneous. The helmet shows battle use and repairs by armorer. Minor restoration to straps and latches. Very well formed and stylish. Approximately 68 inches in height not including stand and the stand is approximately 12 inches. 


Provenance:


Frank Tallman collection as displayed in his private museum located at Orange County airport with his aircraft collection. Obtained by him early 1950’s from London antique dealer Micheal German. Sold by Little John’s auction mid 1990’s and now consigned by that buyers estate.

Note: Comparable sales in Europe of suits we do not like as well upward of $25,000 with lesser helmets.
