L.D. Nimschke firearms engraver by R.L. Wilson illustrates the pulls taken by Nimschke off his very best works and this signed rifle is illustrated therein. The rifle is a 4th model with iron foreign cap and butt plate. Serial #131851. The initials L.D.N. are stamped directly behind the trigger and a engraved oval. The frame is extremely sharp and crisp and shows considerable traces of gold gilt within a uncleaned honey color patina. The barrel and magazine tube show 40% - 60% original finish toning to a brownish grey patina with some minor erosion and light aging. The barrel address and edges are crisp. The wood fits impeccably and is very good with some slight stains and minor scratches showing just normal use. There is an interesting crest showing a shield with 5 stars at the center of the breach. This rifle is an original rimfire not converted or originally made as a center fire. The loading gate shows most of the original bright blue finish. The action is tight and the bore is good and may clean considerably.
