Nashville Plow Works Confederate Bowie Knife

$6,200.00

Nashville Plow Works (Sharp and Hamilton) identified confederate bowie knife circa 1861-1862. An old tag is inscribed from Ruth May Myban, Irish brigade, has been through a fire. A folder of research and documentation identifies the decent and provenance of this bowie knife through the acquisition by noted director Jack Trotter to Bob Butterfield and traces the decent to a doctor Diephluis in 1948 who was located in Muir Beach, California. The rest of the documentation is inconclusive as to the identity of the original Civil War soldier who obtained it. The knife is in good condition with dark patina and indeed may have been in a fire where it was not significantly damaged but smoked. Guaranteed authentic and one of only a few known of this type and style attributed to Nashville Plow Works.
