This pair retain a Sony Studios ID tag and were on display in an executive offices since the golden age of film (1920's-1960's). Formerly MGM, this studio had a large prop department that was mostly liquidated in the 1960's excluding the better arms and armor along with art that was displayed in the suites of higher executives. The helmet shows a brass added bracket for attachment to a wall. Both are fancy cast brass with light gold gilt or plating. The blade of the sword is nicely etched and tempered. A very decorative set with a movie provenance and may well of been used in early films before they were retasked as decorative art. Sold as a pair.
