This large and stout knife shows a yellow stag grip with copper ferrel and copper studs from 19th century. The patina on the grip is attractive and uncleaned. The blade is in good condition showing sharpening, frontier alterations to the shape and size during period of use and probably traded to Native Americans. The scabbard is first quarter of 20th to mid 20th century and a later addition.
