Confederate Hayman Style Cavalry Saber

$3,600.00

Confederate Hayman style cavalry saber numbered 267 on back of thumb guard. Butterfield catalog number 106. 40 ½ inches overall (blade only). The authentic to the period scabbard shows 2 hangers with rings. Single wire wrapped over leather grip is very good and “pommel nut” shows no evidence or rework. Unstopped groove in the blade and there is some rust, minor pitting and erosion. The forward 3 inches of tip rusted from contact with scabbard and the point at tip missing (extremely minor loss). The scabbard is good and shows a seam as is proper for confederate scabbards.
