Colt 1877 Lightening Storekeeper or Sheriff’s Model with Authentic to the Period Holster
.38 Colt caliber with 3 ½ inch barrel and no ejector showing nickel finish and hard rubber grips, serial #50703 made 1879 - 1880. Approximately 40 - 60% toned original nickel finish remains with balance of the metal surfaces gone to natural brown patina. The majority of the loss of finish is on the cylinder and on the firing areas. The markings are good and the action works almost perfectly. The hard rubber grips show some smoothing and wear with the initials CBE carved into the left grip. The grips fit impeccably and are original to this Colt. The form fitted holster is professionally made although unmarked and shows an old reinforcement or repair due to use. A very nice frontier rig found in a southern Arizona collection. Priced very fairly at $1,395 including holster.
