1873 Winchester .44-40 Caliber Octagon Barrel Rifle Shortened To Blanket Size

$1,595.00

3rd model 1873 Winchester in good to very good condition with traces of blue mixed in with overall brown patina. Good markings with sharp edges and good wood. Action works well and all small parts along with dust cover are retained. The bore is shootable and at least good. The barrel is now shortly over 20 inches and is probably 24 inch originally judging from the band placement. The end of the barrel was neatly shortened and shows matching patina. The American Indian by tradition wrapped their guns in blankets as to not appear hostile after the frontier battles were subsiding. Priced reasonably at $1,595.
