1852 French Import Sword
French import / sword / shark skin 1852 Civil war era. Import officer style sword with two branch brass hilts 35 ½ inches overall with 29 ½ inch blade. 2 inches of blade at rigasso ground down roughly possibly during period of use. (To fit in scabbard?) Fair to poor condition. Has a French look. An old collector theorized that it was Confederate used and ground this way to fit in a confederate scabbard.
